Quality Engineer - Automotive Parts Manufacturing (34081)

A global automotive parts manufacturing company in the Rockford, Illinois area is currently seeking a Quality Engineer to support their team. The ideal candidate will conduct tests to assess the qualities of the products and make sure that the items produced on the assembly line adhere to specified standards. This is a full-time, direct hire position with a comprehensive benefits package.

Quality Engineer Responsibilities Include:

• Inspect the product characteristics from the production line and address problems when needed
• General quality control functions such as product inspection, investigations into quality issues, and determining causes & solutions
• Ensure that product launches meet quality standards
• Act as point of contact for customers in regard to quality issues, corrective action, and project status
• Provide qualified suppliers with monthly supplier performance reports
• Conduct internal and external audits on a regular basis
• Maintain proper documentation and create reports for internal and external use
• Other duties as assigned

Quality Engineer Requirements Include:

• Associate's degree in Mechanical, Industrial or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent training and work experience
• Minimum 5 years' experience in quality control, preferably within the automotive industry
• Good computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
• Strong communication and customer service ability in a multicultural environment
• This position is in a manufacturing work environment. While performing the duties of this job you may be required to intermittently sit, stand, walk, lift up to 25 pounds, lift in excess of 25 pounds with a lift assist, climb stairs, use hands to handle or feel parts/equipment, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend at the waist, talk and hear. You may also be required to use close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and peripheral vision.
