The QE understands the principles of product, process and service quality evaluation and control. Duties include, but are not limited to, development and implementation of quality control systems, application and analysis of testing and inspection procedures, use of metrology and statistical methods to improve processes , cost analysis of non-conformances , and auditing quality systems for deficiency identification and correction. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Implement ISO 9001 QMS processes based on existing model.Supervise Kansas Quality team. Coach and develop team members.Develop, control and maintain QMS documentation as required.Lead problem solving investigations related to internal and external issues.Provide leadership and support for Lean / Kaizen improvement activities.Maintain QMS performance metrics and prepare reports and analysis as required.Conduct statistical analysis of product and process quality as required.Conduct training / education sessions as required. Perform other duties as required or assigned.Certificates/Security Clearances/OtherAdditional Qualifications/ResponsibilitiesJOB QUALIFICATIONS: QMS - should have personal experience in QMS development and assessment using ISO 9000 or TS16949 requirements. Problem Solving - should be able to effectively apply a range of problem solving tools in a team environment, identify root causes and appropriate corrective actions. Lean/ Kaizen - should working knowledge of Lean principles and some experience leading Kaizen or 6 Sigma improvement efforts. Communication - must demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and understand how human factors and motivation impact quality. Organization - must be able to demonstrate capability to follow 5S principles. Quality Control - should demonstrate competence in basic metrology, statistics, testing and inspection procedures. Technologies - must be proficient in Microsoft Office Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Experience - prefer 5+ years in truck/ automotive manufacturing or metal fabrication PHYSICAL DEMANDS:Physical fitness to perform all QA functions. Individual will have to visually inspect all aspects of in work and finished product. This may require some reaching, climbing, kneeling, sitting, standing. Individual must be able to communicate effectively. Employee must be able to occasionally lift or move up to 35lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
