A-C Equipment Services, a division of thyssenkrupp Polysius North America, Inc., is engaged in the design, manufacture, installation and service of rotary kilns. Our customer base includes cement manufacturers, paper mills and various other mineral and chemical processing companies located in all parts of the United States.
thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions is currently seeking an experienced Quality Engineer
for our A-C Equipment Services business located in Milwaukee, WI.
The Quality Engineer position will be responsible for the inspection of components such
as machinery frames, planetary coolers, cylindrical kiln shells, and miscellaneous other
fabrications. The position is also responsible for manufacturing engineering tasks related to the fabrication of cylindrical rotary equipment (kilns, mills, dryers, drums).
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
This position will have no supervisor responsibilities.
Inspect parts at vendor facilities.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, tolerances, and welding symbols.
Inspect parts manufactured at A-C Equipment.
Review UT, MPI, X-Ray test results.
Review and file inspection documents.
Create customer quality documentation packages.
Locate and develop new vendors.
Audit existing vendors.
Assist vendors with manufacturing questions.
Review vendor deviation requests and variances with engineering.
Inspect incoming steel plate. Review steel material certificates.
Assist with project cost estimation and shop labor time studies.
Maintain A-C Equipment shop manufacturing schedule.
Create/Maintain standard work procedures.
Review special non-standard work procedures.
Assist safety and engineering with JSA (job safety analyses).
Maintain and adhere to standard shop specifications.
Perform all duties in a safe manner utilizing all required PPE, being constantly aware of others in the work area.
Interface effectively with coworkers in a manufacturing environment
Demonstrate a commitment to safety.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position will have no direct supervisory responsibilities.
Required Education & Experience:
Associate's degree in engineering, Engineering Technology, or Industrial Technology; and/or three years related experience and training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Knowledge & Skills:
Previous experience (5 years minimum) working in a manufacturing environment; preferably as a Manufacturing or Quality Engineer.
Ability to read engineering drawings (Weld symbols and GD & T). Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and willingness to identify, initiate, and drive improvements.
Working knowledge using measuring equipment.
Knowledge of non-destructive testing.
Safety conscious; contributing to a safe working environment for oneself and all others.
Punctual and having the ability to manage time independently with minimal supervision.
Hands on and proactive problem-solving skills.
The ability to spend time in machining and welding environments (physical exertion and noise).
Ability to work well with others in a team environment.
Exhibits integrity through fair and ethical behaviors in all activities; maintains accountability for performance.
Detail-oriented, accurate, timely with strong analytical skills.
Quality mindset.

Experience using CAD
Travel Demands:
This position is based in an office located in Milwaukee, WI.
25% travel required and will be required to visit supplier facilities for audits and inspections. Most suppliers are located within driving distance from Milwaukee.
Infrequent overnight trips will be required.
