Key Responsibilities
- Quality System Expertise: Apply and maintain quality systems, procedures, and standards daily.
- Technical Liaison: Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between manufacturing, quality, engineering, sales, and purchasing teams.
- Problem Resolution: Identify, track, and resolve quality issues, including managing customer complaints through various portals.
- Design Evaluation: Review engineering designs to ensure first-time capability and superior product quality.
- Advanced Quality Planning (APQP): Lead APQP processes, including PPAPs and prototype efforts, to meet customer requirements.
- Documentation Management: Develop and maintain IATF-compliant documents, including process flows, FMEAs, and control plans.
- Customer Support: Provide technical support and lead problem-solving initiatives for assigned customer accounts.
- Training and Development: Train quality and manufacturing personnel on quality systems and the use of new equipment.
- Statistical Analysis: Utilize SPC tools for process monitoring, capability studies (Cp, Cpk), and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Audit Participation: Participate in internal, customer, and external audits to ensure compliance with IATF standards.
- Non-Conformance Management: Manage quality hold areas and disposition non-conforming materials effectively.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in a technical or scientific field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience:
- At least 8 years of experience in quality, preferably in a Tier One automotive environment (BIW).
- Experience working with General Motors or other OEMs is essential.
- Certification as an IATF internal or lead auditor is an advantage.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in statistical tools and software (e.g., Minitab).
- Strong understanding of SPC, Control Plans, FMEA, and quality systems.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with engineering change processes (ECNs) and customer interaction through portals.
