  • Responsible for participating in development and maintenance of APQP, PPAP, and QMS documentation
  • Determines quality improvement parameters by identifying statistical methods relevant to manufacturing processes.
  • Establishes statistical confidence by identifying sample size and acceptable error; determining levels of confidence.
  • Establishes statistical reliability by using mean time before failure, weibull 3-parameter distribution, reliability modeling, and reliability demonstration tests.
  • Lead cross functional teams to develop Corrective and Preventive Action for Customer, Supplier and Production
  • Creates and maintain quality process inspection instructions, reports, and quality alerts
  • Participate in preparation and maintenance of process inspection instructions, reports, and quality alerts
  • Contribute to continual improvement efforts; to include lean manufacturing, process error proofing,
  • CPK improvement, problem solving and resolution, and assistance in providing timely reaction to concerns.
  • Assist in the design, development, and approval of checking aids and fixtures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Achieve department objectives in support of company production, quality, and safety goals
  • Work effectively with all departments and associates for continual improvement of Vehtek Systems methods, procedures, and policies; assist in the implementation of aforementioned
  • Communicate effectively with company personnel, customers, and suppliers
  • Attend and participate in department meetings, plant meetings, and training; participate in customer visitations as designated by the Business Unit Leader and/or Quality Assurance Manager
  • Support new program launches and customer expectations
  • Provide reports as required by the Business Unit Leader and/or Quality Assurance Manager
  • Handle confidential information on a regular basis
  • Encourage safety and housekeeping practices and lead by example
  • Promote and facilitate Open Door process, effective communications and Fair Treatment
  • Participate in Continual Improvement activities
  • Adhere to customer requirements, Business Operating System and company policies
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Lead and direct internal and external Quality system events such as QMS audits and Q1 audits, etc.
  • Direct responsibility to respond and track customer and internal quality concern.
  • Development of Control Plan and PFMEA, participate in RPN reduction initiative.
  • Review of customer specific requirements to ensure compliance / implementation within the internal systems of the business
Team Member Health & Safety Responsibilities

Qualifications
  • Able to demonstrate understanding of how job performance affects product quality and customer satisfaction
  • How to measures ones work to show status of work. Status of quality for respective area of responsibility
  • Able to work well with others; maintain positive employee relations
  • Familiarity with Quality Assurance practices and procedures including statistical process control, blueprint reading, GD&T, use of measuring devices, checking aids / fixtures, computer applications, mechanical testing, customer and QMS requirements
  • Able to prepare, read, write, and interpret written reports, procedures, instructions and guidelines to make recommendations
  • Able to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, associates, suppliers and customers
  • Able to organize, schedule, and manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Able to work flexible and additional hours
  • Able to use computer and software as required
  • Knowledge and use of Core Tools
Education and Experience
  • Associates Degree Required, Bachelor degree in technical field preferred or equivalent experience
  • At least 5 years' experience in a Quality Technician/Inspection or equivalent position that directly relates to meet the qualifications for role.
  • Knowledge of Quality processes, policies, and procedures.
  • Advanced Knowledge of customer and Quality Management System standard requirements
  • Knowledge of automotive fabrication processes
  • Knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning methods
  • Basic Tolerance Skills
  • Knowledge of B.I.W. part to part
  • Basic welding knowledge from Quality and reliability aspects
  • Basic stamping knowledge regarding B.I.W. components
  • Experience managing suppliers and related supplier issues
  • Advanced Knowledge in Quality systems development preferred
  • Strong Microsoft computer skills required
Work Environment
  • Combination of office and manufacturing plant, with an emphasis on manufacturing plant
  • The individual must be able to perform all essential functions as appropriate on the plant floor, in meetings, and with employees, management, customers and suppliers.
  • Salary Exempt pay position, primarily on first shift; flexible hours and regular attendance are required
  • Requires travel to customer and tooling facilities as needed
