Quality Engineer | Eaton Rapids, MIContract: 6 months contract to hire Salary Range: $32.50 - $37.50/hour Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am - 4:30pm Onboarding Requirements: Background check, drug screen, employment verification Position Summary: The Quality Engineer will focus on process improvement, quality enhancement, and nurturing customer relationships. Preference will be given to candidates with Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) and Six Sigma methodology experience. Ideal candidates will have experience in metal fabrication or stamping manufacturing, as well as proficiency with gauging, GD&T, PPAP, FMEA, and MSA. The ability to interpret blueprints is essential. Responsibilities:
- Review Customer quality control manual and specifications for suppliers.
- Provide leadership to quality control inspectors and supervisors.
- Manage internal and external part quality programs.
- Collaborate with production staff on quality processes.
- Oversee Customers SPC data collection and reporting.
- Utilize Minitab for SPC studies.
- Continuously improve SPC programs.
- Address daily quality lab inquiries.
- Interact with various functional groups.
- Manage customer concerns and perform root cause analysis.
- Implement permanent corrective actions.
- Oversee MSA, Fixture, and Gage Calibrations programs.
- Conduct quality inspections and run CMM programs.
- Ensure understanding and adherence to ISO 9001 standards.
- Manage and report quality measurables.
- Additional projects and responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Thorough knowledge of engineering and product processes.
- Demonstrated leadership within quality control teams.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- ASQ - CQE certification preferred.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
