Quality Engineer

Hanover, MN

Currently looking for skilled individuals to fill the position of direct hire Quality Engineer opening with a company located in Hanover, MN. Interested candidates should have 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment. A bachelor's degree in engineering, quality management, or related field is a plus.

Quality Engineer Job Description:

  • Ensure consistency and compliance with all SOPs
  • Train employees on best practices, safety protocols, and quality standards to prevent errors.
  • Perform internal and external audits on processes, materials, and finished products to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Randomly test samples to ensure compliance with standards
  • Inspect finished products to ensure compliance before shipping
  • Interface with suppliers to address any quality issues with raw materials
  • Develop and update quality procedures
  • Prepare and report on metrics like scrap rates, warranty returns, first pass yield, DPPM etc.
  • Lead and facilitate Kaizen events to improve workflow, eliminate waste, and enhance efficiency
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement lean tools, including value stream mapping, 5S, and standardized work
  • Monitor the effectiveness of lean initiatives and report measurable outcomes to stakeholders
  • Partner with production teams to refine manufacturing processes, ensuring consistent product quality and reliability
  • Utilize statistical tools and data-driven approaches to identify process variation and implement improvements
  • Mentor and train staff in quality standards, lean methodologies, and best practices
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and quality excellence across the plant

Quality Engineer Job Requirement:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, quality management, or related field is a plus.
  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment, preferably in the light industrial sector with a focus on quality and lean manufacturing.
  • In-depth knowledge of production processes, lean manufacturing principles, statistical process control, and quality control procedures.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and familiarity with tools like 8D, DMAIC, FMEAs, A3, Pareto, Fishbone diagrams, 5 Whys
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) with strong Excel skills required.
  • Experience with ERP systems is a plus.

Compensation for Quality Engineer:

The starting salary for the Quality Engineer position is $75k-$90k annually plus benefits (health insurance, PTO, retirement options).
