Wieland is hiring a Quality Engineer. The Quality Engineer will work closely with the Quality Manager to provide quality, metrology, and trouble-shooting support for daily QA/QC requirements. This role will also include the development and maintenance of quality systems, investigation into root causes, and identification of necessary actions to address quality initiatives - including technical support and review with applicable customers. This role is located at Wieland Chase in Montpelier, OH and will be fully on-site.
Responsibilities
Quality Engineer Responsibilities:
Address deficiencies identified with daily production environment (process & products) including metrology equipment maintenance - Provide metrology leadership
- Assist in metallurgist leadership
- Communicate with customers to resolve complaints and provide technical assistance
- Provide technical and metallurgist leadership and support management in project/improvement opportunities
Quality Engineer Qualifications:
- Technical Engineering Degree preferred or equivalent Mechanical/Laboratory/Quality experience
- At least five years Technical/Quality and two years of metallurgist experience preferred
- Strong analytical skills/methodology for resolution of customer complaints through root cause / corrective action investigation work
- Problem-solving skills preferred to provide technical support to a customer base with product utilization (e.g. machining, forging, etc.)
- Ability to communicate clearly (written and verbal)
- Experience with metrology equipment and testing techniques (e.g. gages, fixtures, automated dimensional measurement devices)
- Understanding of machining / thread=rolling techniques for customer technical support
- Ability to travel (25%) for training and customer technical support activities
