Job description

We are seeking a skilled Quality Engineer with expertise in the plastics mfg. industry. As a Quality Engineer, your role will involve ensuring product quality, implementing quality assurance measures, and driving continuous improvement. You will develop quality standards, conduct inspections, analyze data, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize processes and exceed customer expectations. Looking for strong ISO 9001 background at a minimum. A background in the medical industry is preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement industry-specific quality standards and procedures.
  • Conduct inspections and audits to ensure compliance with quality requirements.
  • Analyze quality data and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Design and implement quality control plans, including inspection criteria and test methods.
  • Monitor process performance using statistical techniques.
  • Investigate customer complaints and implement corrective actions.
  • Train employees on quality assurance principles and practices.
  • Conduct supplier quality assessments and address quality-related issues.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality and efficiency.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience as a Quality Engineer in the extrusion or film industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of quality assurance methodologies and tools.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and quality management systems.
  • Strong understanding of extrusion or film manufacturing processes and requirements.
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis and problem-solving.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong multitasking abilities.
  • Experience with Lean Six Sigma methodologies is a plus.
