Job Description:
Do you have previous experience in a quality role within manufacturing? Do you have a knack for identifying the slightest imperfections? Do you have experience assisting manufacturing and production to solve product quality problems and look for ways to improve a product's outcome?Curries (an ASSA ABLOY brand) is looking to add a Quality Inspector to our second shift team. The core hours are: 3 PM to 11 PM. This will be an on-site role position out of our Mason City, Iowa manufacturing facility.Come see who we are at: What would you do as our Quality Inspector - 2nd Shift?You will be responsible for ensuring that our products meet the established standards of quality including reliability, usability, and performance. This role involves inspecting products at various stages of the production process and conducting tests to identify defects or deviations from specifications. You would also:
  • You will perform dimensional, mechanical, and visual inspections of incoming materials, in-process products, and finished goods to support production lines and meet established requirements.
  • Utilize precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Document inspection results by completing reports and logs, summarizing re-work and waste, and inputting data into the quality database.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations and in accordance with 5S practices.
  • Communicate quality control information to all relevant departments, suppliers, and customers.
  • Assist in the development of inspection processes and procedures.
  • Identify and document any quality issues and collaborate with the production team to implement corrective actions.
  • Conduct data collection to support line historical data requirements and or machine studies.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Actively participate in providing a safe and harmonious working environment for all employees
  • Comply and enforce compliance of all state and federal regulations, Company standards and the ASSA ABLOY Code of Conduct
The Skills and Experience you need:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • American Society Quality (ASQ), Quality Technician Certification or any additional. technical training or certification in Quality Control is preferred.
  • Previous knowledge of Quality Management Systems is preferred.
  • Ability to use gauging instruments including hardness tester.
  • Proficiency in using measuring tools and equipment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a keen eye for identifying defects.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Basic computer skills, including familiarity with quality management software.
