The Quality Inspector will perform in-process inspections during the manufacturing process to determine the quality of parts, assemblies and sub-assemblies are meeting specifications. Professionally document nonconformances as they are found within manufacturing processes and products. Inspect incoming components, parts, and materials for conformance. Execute the calibration program and maintain compliance. SUMMARY:THE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING: • Understand applicable Quality Assurance and Manufacturing Department procedures, and analyze and interpret drawings, manuals or other information required to determine specifications, inspections procedures, adjustments and certification methods. • Perform Inspection, test (chemical analysis), or measure materials, products for conformance to specifications. • Handling to documented information made by quality department. (e.g. NCR, Inspection/test report, etc) • Notify production supervisors and other personnel of production problems and assist in identifying and correcting the problems. Assist production personnel in solving minor problems and drawing interpretation as needed. • Perform inspections using tools, equipment, and instruments. Compare results to specifications and complete the necessary documentation. • Observe and monitor production operations and equipment to ensure process and product conformance to specifications and make or direct necessary adjustments. • Practice 6S and adhere to all safety rules, guidelines and safe working practices. • Safely operate material handling and lifting equipment such as overhead cranes, forklifts, pallet jacks, motorized scissors lifts and work platforms as required. • Prepare and execute parts or transformer for inspection and prepare a safe environment for inspection • Using available inspection/test procedures and data to set up, inspection/test and assist in the evaluation of the electrical and mechanical performance of each transformer unit. • Perform calibration/repairs of equipment as required. Fabricate, install and test out equipment related to the inspection/testing operations. Keep inspection/test equipment, inspection/test areas and all related areas clean and orderly. • Guide and assist in training other personnel as needed and where applicable. • Support and make recommendations to improve Hyosung HICO's policies and procedures. • Further the goals and positive, professional image of the Quality Department. • Know Hyosung HICO's Quality and Environmental Policies. Be able to fully discuss the importance of these policies and how they impact work. REQUIREMENTS:EDUCATION/SPECIAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING: • High school or GED; Trade or vocational school degree desired. • Minimum three years previous work-related experience in the Quality Assurance field or equivalent education and experience. • Basic knowledge of ISO 9001 standard and quality requirements • Ability to read and understand mechanical and technical drawings. • Developed computer skills for entering and retrieving data. • Developed math and trigonometry skills. • Developed verbal and written communications skills. • Knowledge and use of basic industrial measuring tools needed. • Experience using inspection tools, instruments and equipment required.
