Title: Quality Inspector
Reports to: Quality Control Manager
Location: St. Charles, MO
Job Summary: Maintains quality standards by approving incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products; recording quality results. This position will be on the 12.25-hour, rotating 36/48-hour shift (Day Shift & Night Shift). With training on days 7:45 am-6:15 pm for up to 2 weeks.
Compensation: The starting rate for this role is $21.93.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Verify incoming product by RA # and incoming paperwork.
Approves final incoming product by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests.
Prepare material by loading product on vertical rewinding machine.
Preparing to thread plank through the UT scanning mechanism, aligning above mirror for visual examination of pultruded plate.
Document any irregularities emphasized by UT scanning mechanism. Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarizing re-work and waste; inputting data into quality database.
In the event of unacceptable finding(s), will utilize a chop/miter saw to remove the area.
Ensure proper alignment at take-up winder.
Comply and assist with enforcing all Company/Safety policies and procedures.
Operates a 4-point harness overhead crane to transport product.
Need to document final length/weight.
Prepare labels, and other shipping documentation.
Operates binding equipment, according to specification.
Move product to shipping area.
Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
Qualifications:
High school education, experience in a Quality Department.
Experience utilizing test equipment.
Good communication skills.
Good math skills.
Ability to think through complex processes.
Computer knowledge (word processing, spreadsheets, etc.)
Some mechanical aptitude for minor adjustment and calibrations.
Capabilities to read, understand, and analyze customer specifications.
Some experience in using micrometers and calipers.
Ability to maneuver a crane.
Experience of one year or more in a warehouse/material handling environment is preferred.
Forklift experience preferred.

Handling of carbon fiber material causes moderate to severe itchiness.

Employee will be exposed to plant environment, which contains noise, moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, squat, bend, twist, stoop, crouch, and crawl. The employee frequently is required to use hands and fingers to handle and/or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.
There will be extensive material handling. This role will load- unload, band and prepare for shipping.
Ability to tolerate heat and must be able to wear a bump cap, respirator, Tyvek suit, gloves, ear plugs, and other types of PPE as needed.
Ability to tolerate itchy material.
The employee must frequently lift, push, pull and move 50 pounds or more with the aid of a cart.
