Job Description:

Are you an experienced Quality Control Inspector?

Valmet is looking for a responsible Quality Control Inspector II to check the quality of all incoming and outgoing material and products as well as in-process product. You will be a proactive advocate of quality. The ideal candidate will possess the skills to interpret mechanical drawings, perform inspections utilizing various inspection tools (micrometers, veneers, gauges of all types), and will be reliable and committed. In-depth knowledge and comprehension of quality standards is essential. The goal is to ensure that our products are delivered to our customers with the highest quality.

Responsibilities:

* Perform inspection of incoming product, in-process parts, and completed parts per drawings, standards, or quality procedures.

* Report nonconformances and complete the required quality process.

* Report non-conforming product deficiencies to internal and external interested parties.

* Work with the weld technician to develop weld procedures and welder qualifications.

* Perform non-destructive testing (NDT) using mag particle, liquid penetrant or visual testing process.

* Perform paint adherence and thickness testing and verify correct process have been performed.

* Participate in team meetings, project meetings, root cause analysis (RCA) and risk analysis meetings.

* This position requires some independent direction and working.

* Working safely and adhering to all safety policies.

* Domestic/International travel for customer/vendor inspections will be required.

* Participating and working within a Lean culture (5S).

Essential Skills:

* 10 years' proven experience as quality inspector or relevant role

* A keen eye for detail and a results-driven approach

* Responsible, trustworthy, self-driven, and can work well in a team setting.

* Comfortable with working independently with little direction (after training)

* Familiarity with machinist measuring tools, equipment, and systems

* Thorough knowledge of quality control standards and testing methodologies

* Welding testing/inspection (CWI) background or formally a welder (helpful, not required)

* Working knowledge of IT tools such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and Teams
