With a commitment to our vision that strong relationships drive strong results and better business, our people make Cooper Machinery Services legendary.Job Overview:In this role the Quality Inspector III will support receiving and production inspection activities to include testing, root cause analysis, and corrective action. In this role, you will maintain Quality Management System documentation and lead changes in process improvement initiatives as it relates to Quality. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Be responsible for safe and efficient inspection of products manufactured and assembled externally and internally
- Perform and document inspection including photographs, dimensional measurements, physical testing, and non-destructive testing of components
- Inspect and test components / assemblies using predetermined specifications, methods, and inspection plans to validate purchased and manufactured product to requirements
- Approve certifications of raw material prior to release for production
- Perform final inspections on products and document
- Assist with managing the calibration of measuring tools
- Process non-conformance issues and communicate with Engineering to obtain timely disposition of quality related concerns
- Make accept or reject decisions on Quality acceptability and initiate disposition on minor rework.
Required Skills and ExperienceEducation: High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 10 years' experience in an Inspection or Quality environment.Other required skills:
- Ability and willingness to use various types of inspection equipment such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and optical comparators
- Ability to interpret blueprint requirements
- Familiar with ISO standards and Quality Management System requirements
- Basic Computer knowledge including SAP
- Must be able to lift at least 30 pounds physically able to perform labor
