We are currently seeking a Site Quality Inspector for our Utility Division that will support work on projects in either Champaign, Illinois or Amarillo, Texas. Salary range: $35 - $40 per hour What you'll do:
- Lead and conduct comprehensive quality inspections and tests on mechanical, electrical, and civil construction activities at all project stages.
- Review and validate construction documents, including plans, specifications, and shop drawings, for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
- Perform visual inspections and measurements to verify the quality of workmanship and adherence to project requirements.
- Identify and document any deviations or non-compliance issues.
- Conduct thorough inspections of equipment and materials, ensuring they meet project requirements and comply with quality control procedures.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and construction teams to resolve complex quality issues and provide technical guidance.
- Prepare accurate and detailed inspection reports, including findings, recommendations, and corrective actions.
- Assist in the development and improvement of quality control procedures and documentation.
- Stay updated on industry best practices, standards, and regulations related to solar construction quality assurance.
- Participate in internal and external quality audits and assist in implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
- Identify and document deviations from established quality standards and recommend corrective actions to address any deficiencies.
- Conduct inspections of equipment and materials to ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Maintain accurate and organized documentation control practices, including the preparation of inspection reports, non-conformance reports, and other quality-related documentation.
What you'll bring: - High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications or technical training in construction, engineering, or quality control is preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field, such as mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or civil engineering is preferred.
- 4+ years of experience in construction quality assurance/quality control, with a strong focus on large-scale utility solar projects.
- Extensive knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and civil construction techniques, processes, and equipment for the renewables industry.
- In-depth understanding of industry standards, codes, and regulations related to utility-scale solar construction.
- Proven expertise in reading and interpreting construction plans, specifications, and shop drawings.
- Proficient in using inspection tools, equipment, and software applications.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify defects or non-compliance issues.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with project stakeholders, construction craft staff, and the project management team.
- Basic computer skills and proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications.
- Physical fitness and ability to work in outdoor environments and climb ladders when required.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- OSHA-10 (Construction Specific) certification
- Ability to pass a comprehensive drug screening and background check.
- Willingness to travel to/from project sites as required with your personal vehicle.
