Arwood Machine seeks a Quality Inspector for our Newburyport, MA, location.Job PurposeAs a Quality Inspector at Arwood Machine, Newburyport, MA, you are to perform mechanical measurements and inspect manufactured parts to all quality control standards. Arwood Machine operates in an environmentally controlled, state of the art facility committed to producing quality parts for our clients. We manufacture products for several industries, including aerospace, military and defense, satellite, and medical devices. Key Accountabilities
- Perform First Piece Layouts using conventional layout techniques
- Complete part inspections using conventional gauging
- Assure that inspecting and testing materials, equipment, processes, and products meet quality specifications
- Monitor and analyze product quality
- Assist in creating Standard Operating Procedures and Inspection Methods
- Assist in collaborating to develop and implement quality and process controls and improvements
- Ensure that workflows, processes, and products comply with safety regulations
- Assist in investigating and troubleshooting product or production issues
- Assist in inspecting manufactured parts, issuing non-conformance reports, and providing input to MRB hardware disposition and corrective action tasks
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience with Part Inspections and Drawing Interpretation Expertise.
- Extensive knowledge of GD&T.
- First Article and inspection method knowledge.
- Ability to complete simple calibrations and Dimensional and Visual Inspections.
- Experience in Root Cause Analysis, Data analysis, and Statistical Process Control.
- Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and task management skills.
Preferred
- Knowledge of how to perform plate layout and measurements.
- Experience in aerospace, defense, or medical device manufacturing.
- Experience working within an ITAR/EAR compliant organization.
- CMM programming and the ability to run CMMs and Visual Inspection Devices.
- Quality control certification (ASQC).
