Job DescriptionSUMMARY Quality Inspector II are experienced inspectors who are able to perform more complex manual inspection tasks. They have a demonstrated proficiency in the use of more advanced tools, such as optical comparators and profilometers. These individuals perform their daily work with minimal supervision. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Review and verification of supplier-provided paperwork to ensure correctness and completion.Visual inspection of parts, checking for completeness, damage, and foreign objects.Dimensional verification of parts for noted characteristics using both basic hand tools, such as calipers, micrometers, pin gauges, and thread gauges and more advanced tools, such as optical comparators and profilometers.Completion of inspection reports and other required paperwork.Verification of tool calibration prior to use.Acting as an example to the rest of the plant on use of procedures, following rules and policies, and cleanliness.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES None. QUALIFICATIONSEducation and Experience
- A high school diploma or GED is the minimum education level for this position.
- One to two years of prior inspection experience is required.
- Basic computer skills, particularly Microsoft Excel, is required.
- Basic understanding of print reading and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD T) is required.
- Attention to detail, organization, and a high degree of work ethics are essential.
Language Skills This position requires the ability to read and understand technical instructions. Basic understanding of print reading and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD T) is required. Bilingual in Spanish and English is a plus. Software/Analytical Skills Proficiency with Microsoft Excel is required. Experience with common Microsoft Office Suite applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) is useful. The ability to analyze and interpret defect conditions is essential. Reasoning Ability The ability to make decisions based upon incomplete data is important in this position. PHYSICAL DEMANDS The employee should be able to move items up to 50 lbs. Employee will be required to pass an annual eye examination. WORK ENVIRONMENT The work environment for this position is on our production floor, which includes both areas of climate control and areas that are less controlled.
