Our Pennington Seed facility in Lebanon, OR is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Inspector to join our team and ensure the highest standards of product quality and compliance with safety and operational procedures. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring production processes, inspecting orders, ensuring quality control testing is conducted, and maintaining inventory of chemicals and supplies. This role is essential in upholding the integrity of our manufacturing processes and contributing to the overall success of our production lines.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

* Review Production Orders: Inspect all production orders, including lot numbers, tag information, packaging, and blue tags. Conduct quick checks and conversations with appropriate line leaders to ensure order accuracy and completeness.

* Swing Shift Coordination: Review production orders for swing shift and ensure alignment by coordinating with the swing shift supervisor to address any concerns or updates.

* Coating Line Quality Control: Monitor quality control testing on the coating line. Ensure that testing spreadsheets are updated and accurate, and that samples are collected and recorded every two hours.

* Chemical Preparation: Prepare all necessary chemicals (Bio D, Penkote, colorant, etc.) for Lines 1, 2, and the Sod room. Coating line chemicals are the responsibility of the coating line operator.

* Inventory Management: Take regular inventory of supplies and chemicals, including items such as cardboard, stretch wrap, and other materials necessary for production.

* Bag Preparation: Ensure that bags are prepared for each shift (tagging, stenciling, etc.). In the event of a shortage, the inspector will take responsibility for performing this task.

* Production Monitoring: Continuously monitor production throughout the day by checking in with line leaders, performing bag weight checks, and verifying product quality.

* Safety & Procedure Compliance: Ensure all safety protocols and standard operating procedures are followed, including the use of proper PPE, correct lifting techniques, and accurate dumping paperwork.

QUALIFICATIONS

* Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training or certification in quality control, manufacturing, or a related field is a plus.

* Experience: Previous experience in a quality control or manufacturing role preferred.

* Skills:

* Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.

* Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes and quality inspection techniques.

* Proficiency in using measurement tools, spreadsheets, and other data tracking systems.

* Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with line leaders, supervisors, and other team members.

* Basic understanding of safety protocols and PPE usage in a manufacturing environment

* Must be able to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and work in various areas of the production facility.

WORKING CONDITIONS

* This role is performed on-site in a manufacturing facility.

* Regular interaction with production staff and supervisors to ensure proper workflow.

* Must be adaptable to a fast-paced and dynamic production environment.
