Job Description:
Job DescriptionWood is currently sourcing a Quality Inspector to join the Wood Quality team for projects near Hobbs, NM.This position is full time based out of Houston TX. Candidates should have a strong knowledge in welding processes, and structural and pipe fabrication. This position will primarily be responsible for working with the Project Manager to ensure the management of the quality standards for pipeline and structural projects during construction, for all related materials, structures, equipment, components, and systems:Authorization to work lawfully in the US without sponsorship from Wood is required.Responsibilities
  • Ensure that the construction project plans are properly executed and evaluate the effectiveness of controls delineated in the PQP/ITP and implementing procedures
  • Perform or verify that all required construction QC sampling, lab or other testing and documentation are performed correctly
  • Perform acceptance and rejection of services or completed work
  • Perform surveillances of project operations
  • Provide reports of observation and test results
  • Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned
  • Provide project turnover documents as required by project specifications.
QualificationsMinimum 3 years and above documented field experience with ability to read and interpret instructions and document, plan and perform work activities independently..
  • Ability to prioritize, plan, perform and communicate activities in both written and verbal form.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of relevant Gas, Pipeline, Civil, Structural, Equipment work history
  • Must be able to work independently while demonstrating strong qualities and integrity.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with strong attention to detail.
  • Experience working with quality management systems
  • Computer literacy applied to data management, collection, and reporting.
  • Must have a minimum journeymen's experience of one of the following construction disciplines (Civil/Concrete/Structural/Piping/Welding/Mechanical/Electrical)
  • Must be a self-starter, organized, detailed oriented
  • Must be experienced in Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Ability to coordinate multiple activities and provide QA oversight for multiple contractors and crafts
  • Knowledgeable regarding measurement and test equipment (MT&E) is preferred
  • Knowledge pertaining to welding, pressure testing, coating, and torquing.
  • Experience with construction quality management tools and working knowledge of quality guidelines (.i.e. ASME/AWS/ACI/API/ICC/NACE) preferred
  • AWS certified welding inspector (CWI) is preferred
  • Must pass drug test, physical and background check
