Scope of Position:
Responsible for making sure all sheet metal parts meet the correct specifications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
List what the person must do to perform the job to meet standards.
* Perform quality inspection on fabricated parts by interpreting, measuring, and verifying mechanical dimensions and tolerances of parts according to drawings and procedures using standard measuring tools and equipment.
* Perform inspection on work order routers by interpreting drawings and verifying job sequences
* Perform first off, in-process, and final inspections of simple and complex parts.
* Notify Setup person and/or supervisor of detected non-conformances
* Detail discrepancies that warrant repair or remake
* Generate inspection/test reports as required and maintain receiving inspection files
* Interact with Setup people, Production Coordinator, and Product Quality Engineer
* Perform gauge calibration and issuance of gauging
* Responsible for part rejections that do not meet the requirements for acceptance from company drawings
* Communicate inspection findings to Supervisor via reports and/or oral communication
* Observes and obeys all safety rules, practices and procedures
