Job Description:
Work for a Central New Jersey area company that produces electro-mechanical power connection products.Quality Inspector - Manufacturing Assembly (Electric Products): Key Responsibilities:* Incoming Inspection:o Inspect and verify incoming materials and components against specifications and purchase orders.o Document inspection results and report non-conforming materials to relevant departments.* In-Process Inspection:o Conduct inspections at various stages of the assembly process to ensure compliance with quality standards.o Identify and report defects or inconsistencies in the assembly line and collaborate with production teams for corrective actions.o Maintain accurate records of inspection results and communicate findings to supervisors and production staff.* Final Inspection:o Perform final inspections of finished products before shipment to verify adherence to quality and safety standards.o Review and approve inspection documentation, ensuring completeness and accuracy.* Tools and Equipment:o Proficient use of calipers, micrometers, gauges, and electrical testing equipment such as multimeters.o Ensure all measuring equipment is properly calibrated and maintained.* Documentation and Reporting:o Accurately document all inspection activities, non-conformances, and corrective actions in quality management systems.o Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action meetings as needed.o Assist in preparing quality reports and summaries for management review.o Collaborate with the Quality Control Manager to refine inspection processes and implement continuous improvement initiatives.Job RequirementsQualifications:* Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in quality inspection or a related field is preferred.* Experience: 2-4 years of experience in quality inspection within a manufacturing or assembly environment, preferably with electric products.* Skills:o Strong attention to detail and a keen eye for identifying defects.o Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.o Proficient in using precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers) and electrical testing instruments.o Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with production and quality teams.o Basic understanding of quality control methodologies such as inspection criteria, defect dispositions, root cause analysis and corrective actions.o Knowledge in calibration and equipment maintenance. o ASQ certification and experience with Lean manufacturing and basic statistical analysis a plus but not required.Work Environment:* Manufacturing assembly floor environment with exposure to electrical products, machinery, and moderate noise levels.* Must be able to stand for extended periods and occasionally lift objects up to 25 lbs.
