UTRS Advanced Manufacturing (UTRS AM) is currently seeking a Quality Inspector Technician to join our team! We are looking for someone that will support our mission to consistently deliver creative, high-quality, technology-based services to our customers on time and within budget. This position will provide inspection support in a manufacturing facility for both internal and outsourced operations/parts received, first piece, first article, and in-process and final inspections. This position is located at our Robbinsville NJ facility. What will you be doing? This position will be a key member of the quality team. Duties include:

  • Interprets engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas to determine quality and reliability standards
  • Perform inspection of purchased parts, intricate first article parts using a wide variety of hand gages and more complex automated inspection equipment
  • Understand and apply basic Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing systems
  • Initiate rejection reports for non-conforming materials and ensure proper completion of required documentation in accordance with departmental, and ISO requirements
  • Working knowledge of 3D solid modeling CAD software like SolidWorks
  • Comparison of parts to CAD models
  • Reverse Engineering
  • Responsible for maintaining lot control for short production runs
  • Perform inspections using manual CMM, SME, optical comparator, gages, and inspection system
  • Complete the appropriate documentation, inspection records, non-conforming material reports
  • Assemble material certification packages
What skills will the ideal candidate have to be successful? This position will require the following skillsets and experience:
  • Five years or more experience programming and operating CMM's a plus, but not required
  • College degree a plus, but not required
  • Understanding of ASQ sampling standards a plus
  • Thorough knowledge of GD&T
  • Thorough knowledge of metal parts manufacturing operations
  • Working knowledge of SolidWorks desirable
  • Ability to work well with and train other employees
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain a security clearance
