About the Team: The Quality team supports all areas of production of Relativity's hardware and defines the processes to do so. We work closely with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, test and launch counterparts to ensure the quality of our products. We help lay the foundation for all processes within the product lifecycle - design, buy, build, test and launch. This is a unique opportunity to join a growing Quality organization and help lead the front on producing the industry's highest quality 3D-printed parts and launch vehicle. What you'll do: The Quality Engineer Intern will be responsible for defining the process and systems used to assure high quality of vehicle and engine hardware. You will have the opportunity to help set the tone for Quality at Relativity by defining the processes, and establishing interdepartmental relationships needed to accomplish this goal across the entire company. The Quality Engineer Intern will play a critical role in both the introduction and scaling of Relativity's launch vehicle production. We are seeking a highly-motivated individual to lead the front on producing the industry's highest quality 3D-printed parts. Past intern projects (just a few examples!)

  • Tested flight quick disconnects
  • Implemented computer vision on the robots to implemented live depth data
  • Worked on adding automated sanding/grinding capabilities to our print cells
  • Worked on test stand infrastructure to help run tests more often and more efficiently
  • Oversaw designing the PCB for the High Voltage Battery Management System (HVBMS)
  • Helped set up an anomaly detection framework for stargate printers
  • Printed rocket engine parts!
Skills/Competencies we're looking for:
  • Obtaining BS or MS degree in Engineering.
  • Experience building and/or testing hardware in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a quality function.
  • Extensive experience interfacing with design engineering, manufacturing, and production personnel.
  • Knowledge of configuration management, manufacturing methods, and process quality controls.
  • We believe varied perspectives & backgrounds strengthen our team. Prior experience in aerospace is not required.
