Job Description:

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Quality Lab Analysts in the automotive industry conduct tests and inspections to ensure the quality production of automotive parts and components. They play a crucial role in maintaining product quality and safety.

JOB DUTIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

* Conduct routine and non-routine analyses of raw materials, in-process materials, and finished automotive products.

* Inspect, check, and test automotive parts & components to confirm they meet quality standards and relevant regulations.

* Interpret test results, compare them to established specifications, and make recommendations on data appropriateness for product release.

* Calibrate, validate, and maintain laboratory equipment and testing instruments.

* Keep accurate records of inspections, checks, and test results.

* Analyze defects found during testing and log them into production documentation.

* Conduct root cause analysis to identify sources of quality issues.

* Perform risk assessments to preempt potential quality problems.

* Assist production staff with quality control procedures.

* Write technical reports on test results, deviations, and trend analyses.

* This is not an all-inclusive list. Management may assign other tasks and responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES)

Education and Experience:

* Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field like Engineering, Chemistry, or Quality Assurance

* Experience in a Quality Control role in manufacturing, preferably in the automotive industry

* Knowledge of automotive systems, components, and manufacturing processes

Required Skills & Abilities:

* Strong attention to detail and ability to quickly spot quality issues

* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

* Proficiency in using testing equipment and laboratory instruments

* Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) and other quality control techniques

* Familiarity with automotive industry standards and regulations

* Strong written and verbal communication skills

* Ability to work effectively in a team environment

* Proficiency with database and quality management software
