About the role We are looking for a thorough lab technician who will be responsible for facilitating testing procedures and quality release of materials and finished goods. A lab technician is responsible for performing routine and non-routine laboratory tests and analyses by preparing samples, operating laboratory instrumentation, recording data, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring accuracy of results within a laboratory setting, following safety protocols and guidelines; their duties may include sample collection, equipment calibration, quality control checks, and completing quality release. As part of the Quality Department, other duties may be assigned as manufacturing needs change. Responsibilities • Collecting, receiving, labeling, and/or analyzing samples using the correct methods and testing equipment. • Executing testing in line with standard operating procedures, recording observations, and interpreting findings. • Recording all experimental data and test results accurately and in the specified format (written and/or electronic.) • Ensuring that safety guidelines are adhered to at all times within the workspace. • Maintaining daily logs. • Cleaning and maintaining equipment. • Ordering lab supplies, as needed. • Review of production records and finished goods for accuracy and conformance. • Completing paperwork and entering data in inventory control software based on inspections, document review, final release, and other processes. • Completing additional inspections when necessary. Qualifications . Associate degree in biology, chemistry, or a related field • Working knowledge of MS Office Suite and database systems. • Ability to work autonomously and under pressure. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Keen attention to detail. • Analytical skills. • 1-3 years of experience in testing concepts such as pH, FTIR, HPLC, and micro testing Physical Requirements Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
