QUALity Laboratory Assistant

Job Description

The candidate will be required to perform various tasks to support the quality department, scientists and researchers in the laboratory. The candidate will be responsible for regular maintenance, calibration, and proper cleaning of equipment and laboratory surfaces. The ideal candidate will have laboratory experience and understand the maintenance of good laboratory practices and quality standards. The candidate will be provided proper training in aseptic gowning procedures for work in the cleanroom. The candidate will be responsible for properly labeling chemicals, chemical inventories, quality control inspections, and maintenance of logs as required for proper laboratory practices.

Main Functions(this is not an all-inclusive list of tasks)

• Assist scientists and support in research needs
• Stock and maintain all areas of the laboratory and cleanroom
• Clean and maintain all laboratory equipment
• Properly maintain laboratory logs, including temperature, cleaning, and maintenance logs
• Properly conduct testing (pH, Endotoxin) and inspection of received items (laboratory supplies, blood inspections) according to Quality Control standards
• Understand and demonstrate the proper aseptic gowning procedure for cleanroom
• Ensure good laboratory practices and quality standards are being upheld

Position Requirements

• Formal education in basic science, such as an Associates or Bachelors degree
• Skilled in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio)
• Can work independently or in a team setting
• Demonstrated excellence in oral and written communications
• Meticulous attention to detail and well-organized

Physical Demands: Must be able to comfortably carry 20 pounds or less
