Title: Quality Management Trainee (QMT)Department: InnovationReports To: Corporate QA Specialist with direct supervision by site QA ManagerSUMMARY: The primary purpose of this position is to develop the technical and leadership skills necessary to be a leader within the Quality organization. This position will sustain the food safety policy, mission, purpose, and quality statements of the Mennel Milling Company.PRIMARY WORK SHIFT: Monday through Friday 7AM - 4PM. Will vary, depending on workload. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Include the following - Other duties may be assigned:
- Follow all food and personal safety rules and regulations in respect to GMP's, OSHA, HACCP, the Global Food Safety Initiative, the US FDA Food Safety Modernization Act as stated in the FS&Q Statement, and sanitation guidelines as set forth by the company as listed in Corporate Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) and attend all required training sessions. Maintain the department/facility in an everyday audit ready condition.
- Be proficient in assigned testing methods and data entry performed in the QA department.
- Conduct accurate analysis of routine and non-routine samples for internal and external customers in support of all food safety programs, quality control, and meeting customer expectations, timelines, and specifications.
- Maintains accountability with all testing methods, data entry performed, operator training, and equipment validation.
- Maintains a clean and orderly work area in addition to assigned sanitation duties.
- Promptly communicates important quality, safety, and security concerns to co-workers, and Quality Assurance Manager.
- Observe and learn the operations within the various departments (Quality Control lab, flour mill, grain elevator, packaging facility, etc.).
- Demonstrate excellent organizational abilities in setting priorities, organizing workload, handling multiple responsibilities, and meeting deadlines.
- Become immersed in an environment that fosters learning and development.
- Together with the plant leadership team, sets and builds the overall food safety culture for the facility and exhibits excellent leadership skills.
- Fosters a culture of continuous improvement within the workforce and facility.
- Is an active participant in the Quality Resolution Team meetings, assisting the task of root cause analysis, CAPAs, and communication of findings.
- Perform any other duties as assigned, required, and directed by QA Manager.

- Bachelor's or Associate's degree in the physical sciences is preferred.
- Experience working in a laboratory environment is desired.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and organize tasks and follow through to ensure completion of assignments in an efficient and high-quality manner.
- Must exhibit a high aptitude of troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Must have the ability to understand how materials flow through a particular process and/or a sequence of operations.
- Knowledge of and ability to operate Microsoft office software, Internet and Intranet and other computer software to complete essential duties and responsibilities.
