Position Overview
OMG currently operates in two Divisions: OMG Roofing Products and FastenMaster. OMG Roofing Products is a leading global manufacturer and supplier of value-added components for the commercial roofing industry. The FastenMaster Division manufactures and markets innovative, premium quality wood-to-wood fasteners that are engineered to enable professional contractors to complete building projects safer, faster, and easier. The quality of our products and services is critical to the success of our company and our customers. The Adhesives Quality Manager is responsible for providing leadership, direction and quality oversight for all products manufactured at the Rockford, MN adhesives facility. This individual has responsibility for the day-to-day management of all quality related activities in the plant including the investigation of non-conformances and customer complaints, deviation management, CAPA and operational readiness. This individual also develops and maintains the quality strategy for the plant and implements and improves the plant's Quality Management System (QMS). The Adhesives Quality Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of quality control and assurance within the manufacturing environment ensuring that products meet or exceed customer expectations.
Position Responsibilities
* Provides quality support for the manufacture and disposition of OMG products. Works directly with Rockford plant leadership to ensure that all products meet all required quality standards and specifications.
* Provides quality leadership and influences other functional departments to ensure that internal operations and processes achieve and maintain compliance with all quality standards.
* Coordinates and facilitates resolution in a timely manner with external and internal business partners all deviations, Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA), customer complaints, change control and investigations.
* Develops, deploys and maintains all internal Quality systems and processes including training, internal auditing, document control and manufacturing quality plans.
* Provides Quality oversight, guidance and support for raw material qualifications, technology transfer, product scale-up, trial production runs, pilot production and equipment validation.
* Leads non-conformance investigations and corrective action efforts. Includes performing required analysis to determine root cause of any deviations or product failure and recommend corrective actions.
* Participates in new product introduction and development efforts to ensure that quality related issues are addressed, quality related control activities are designed, and trial activities are coordinated to ensure that products and processes meet all quality requirements.
* Responsible for supporting manufacturing and engineering functions to process quality improvement activities, including statistical process control, development of sampling plans and design of experiments.
* Works with the plant leadership team to support deadlines and product delivery schedules. Oversees validation activities of equipment and processes and establishes control specifications across the production areas. Helps determine areas needing improvement and additional training. Collaboratively creates action plans.
* Monitors and reports manufacturing quality trends, performs statistical analysis and works with plant leadership and New Product Development to make improvements and correct issues.
* Responsible for Continuous Improvement projects to improve the effectiveness of quality systems, associated manufacturing processes, key metrics, cost of non-conformances and in turn, enhance customer value.
* Supervises, coaches and mentors all plant quality resources for peak performance.
Position Requirements
* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Chemistry or science related discipline
* 3-5 years of experience in leading and implementing quality improvements
* Advanced knowledge of quality methods and systems is required (statistics, control plans, sampling and auditing)
* LSS and ASQ certifications and demonstrated use of disciplines strongly preferred
* Advanced PC skills including experience with MS Office Suite (strong Excel skills required) and statistical software (Minitab)
* Superior interpersonal and communication skills are essential for dealing with all levels of internal and external suppliers and customers
