Quality Manager - Aerospace

EverFab is a leading precision manufacturer in East Aurora area for over 44 years. We are ISO9001:2015 & AS9100D and ITAR certified. Our 45,000 sq. ft. facility is climate controlled and consists of some of the most accurate machining and validation equipment available.

Quality Manager - Aerospace

The Quality Manager will be a member of the Management Team. They shall ensure a high level of customer service, investigate, and correct customer issues and complaints relating to quality.

They will be responsible to plan, coordinate and manage our quality and process control programs to ensure the continuous and consistent production of quality parts to meet our customers' specifications.

They will coordinate quality inspection of parts; components made to our customers' specifications and prioritize to ensure deliveries are met.

They will review and make the final decision on dispositions to in-process non-conforming products.

Following is an overview, but is not limited to, the responsibilities of this position.

Quality Responsibilities

· Quality Job Review - jobs being released to the floor

  • Review customer required quality clauses.
  • Review PO for quality & other requirements.
  • Review customer Control Plan requirements.
  • Verify that inspection plan and the manufacturing process plan (MPP) are in accordance with each other.
  • Review master change document (MCD) for any previous issues and ensure implementation of any required changes.
  • Review CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) programs and sample inspection reports by OP.
  • Determine validation processes and requirements.
  • Determine deburr requirements and verify procedures and prints exist.

· Oversight of Floor Inspection and production quality issues.

· Oversight of CMM, standard gaging and fixtures including maintenance of metrology and deburr equipment.

· Validation methods of product manufactured

· Create, review and modify quality procedures as required.

  • Facilitate & maintain AS9100 Business Management System
  • Manage AS9100 Internal Audit Process and preparation for external audits.

· BMS/Quality Manual maintenance to ensure AS9100 compliance

· Final review of Initial Run Virtual Factory jobs upon completion for efficiencies and document findings on the MCD for MBS approved time standard input.

· SDA, SRID, NCR & discrepancy notifications to customers

· Provide root cause and corrective action information/documentation for discrepant products (NC's & SCAR's).

· Develop, review and improve quality processes as required.

· Evaluate machine capabilities.

Supervision Responsibilities

· Work with the HR to aid in hiring employees when openings/needs arise

· Complete employee performance evaluations (probationary & annually)

Management Team Member

· Attend management team meetings

· Assume quality advisory role on management team

· Update management team on current loads, quality issues, manufacturing issues, customer satisfaction (OTD & Quality ratings)

Daily General:

  • Work with other Managers, TC's & TM's to ensure the highest quality and timely completion of jobs.
  • Help with addressing training needs & requirements.
  • Interface with customers to get clarification on part requirements when needed (print issues, standards, GD&T questions, processes, etc.).

Educational experience:

· Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering

· 3-5 years Quality related experience in a CNC machining environment, aerospace preferred.

Skills/Abilities

· Excellent people management skills, strong written and verbal communication skills

· Supervisory/Management experience

· Detail oriented and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

· Strong analytical and root cause capabilities and proactive drive to corrective action

· Lean manufacturing experience

· Able to take initiative, maintain confidentiality, to meet deadlines.

· Proficient in MS Office

This is a first shift full time salaried position, Monday – Friday at the facility, no remote.

Job Type: Full-time

Experience and skill considered in Final Wage determination.

Pay: $85,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
