Join a leading high-precision machining facility specializing in the production of metal components for aerospace applications. Our client operates out of a modernized machine shop conveniently located in the Elmhurst/Addison area off of rte. 290.
Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Quality Manager to lead our quality assurance and control programs. The Quality Manager will ensure compliance with aerospace industry standards, customer requirements, and internal processes. This individual will drive continuous improvement initiatives, maintain certifications, and uphold our commitment to delivering high-quality components.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and manage the company's Quality Management System (QMS) in compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, and customer requirements.
- Lead and mentor the quality team, including quality engineers, inspectors, and technicians.
- Oversee the inspection and testing of raw materials, in-process parts, and finished products to ensure adherence to specifications.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customer audits, third-party certifications, and regulatory inspections.
- Drive root cause analysis and corrective action processes to resolve non-conformances and customer complaints.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering and production, to address quality concerns and implement preventive measures.
- Manage the calibration and maintenance of inspection equipment.
- Track and report key quality metrics, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
- Promote a culture of quality awareness and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 3 years of quality management experience in a high-precision machining or aerospace manufacturing environment.
- In-depth knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, and other relevant quality standards.
- Proficiency in root cause analysis and problem-solving methodologies such as 8D or Six Sigma.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a team.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Familiarity with quality inspection tools and equipment, including CMMs.
- Experience with quality management software and ERP systems is a plus.
