We are currently seeking a Quality Manager to lead the development and maintenance of our clients Total Quality Management System (TQMS). This role is located near Schenectady, NY and is pivotal in overseeing product quality assurance and risk assessment initiatives while fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Responsibilities of the Quality Manager will include:
- Establish and lead quality-related initiatives and activities in hardware and embedded software products.
- Design and implement the quality manufacturing process
- Develop, implement, and maintain a robust Total Quality Management System ensuring regulatory compliance. Providing oversight of continuous improvement, documentation, supplier qualifications, audits and corrective action.
- Develop and implement quality plans for new products.
- Collaborate with all departments, with a specific focus on Product Management, R&D, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams to integrate quality into all phases of product development.
- Conduct regular product quality inspections and lead investigations into any deviations from established standards.
- Lead initiatives to conduct risk assessments related to product quality.
- Implement effective risk mitigation strategies to minimize potential quality and safety risks throughout the supply chain.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate mitigation strategies into overall operational practices.
- Work closely with suppliers to establish and maintain high-quality raw materials.
- Stay on top of industry regulations and standards related to hardware and software products.
- Maintain a system for receiving, investigating, and resolving customer complaints related to product quality and safety.
- Analyze complaint trends using statistical methods to gain insights for targeted improvements. Ensure corrective actions are implemented and champion continuous improvement measures based on customer feedback.
- Build, lead, and mentor the quality assurance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
- Utilize data-driven insights to identify trends, areas for improvement, and opportunities for innovation.
- Prepare and present regular reports to executive leadership on quality metrics, compliance status, and improvement initiatives.
- Lead the organization in attaining ISO 9001 certification.
- Establish, communicate, and implement testing policies, practices, standards, and security measures to ensure effective and consistent operations.
Job RequirementsQualifications of the Quality Manager:
- 5+ years of experience in quality assurance; 4+ years in a people leadership/management role.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, a related field, or relevant work experience.
- Demonstrated experience in managing budgets, setting strategic goals, and delivering results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Experience with SaaS application testing.
- Expertise in Lean Six Sigma, Define-Measure-Analyze-Improve-Control (DMAIC) methodology, performance measures, and quality improvement.
- Certification by ASQ (Certified Six Sigma Black Belt, Certified Quality Engineer, and Certified Quality Manager/OE) or other industry-recognized professional organizations.
