The Quality Manager is responsible for managing the quality program and providing work direction for the quality assurance department. The QM ensures that purchased material, final product, manufacturing testing and reporting meet internal, external industry and safety requirements and/or standards. This person is also responsible for establishing quality procedures and direction which are essential for assuring high levels of on-going customer satisfaction, and for implementing and maintaining the Quality Management Systems (QMS) compliance at the plant level.Essential duties and responsibilities:- Serve as a Quality representative to promote and improve awareness, visibility, and communication of quality initiatives. Support departmental, functional, site, divisional and corporate quality goals, and priorities- Define and track quality assurance metrics- Provide leadership in the development and maintenance of material specifications, ensure specifications meet or exceed industry standards- Train and direct QA and production resources to perform inspection and test activities on key product and process characteristics in a timely manner- Provide guidance on compliance to industry standards- Be a Liaison between sales and quality for external customer issues through resolution of quality concerns to minimize liability- Investigate matters of significance with regards to quality (for example, large dollar value, complex issues, multi-supplier issues) for customer resolution and distributes Quality Alerts to all other plants when necessary- Manage our continuous improvement system of employee-based process and audit teams- Coordinate to ensure that a training process is in place for communication of new and modified work instructions to relevant personnel- Manage the audit process to ensure all processes comply with QMS- Perform and support external supplier and OBE audits$65 - $70kExempt positionBenefits
