Summary: The role of Quality Manager (QM) reports directly to the site General Manager (GM), with a dotted line to Corporate Quality. The QM is an essential member of the management team and is responsible for the overall quality performance of the relevant Element U.S. Space & Defense facility. Quality Managers, in partnership with site Operations personnel, will drive a culture of quality assurance and quality improvement and have a sound working knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 requirements. Develop, implement, and monitor company quality programs and policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local quality regulations. This includes monitoring and evaluating internal quality processes, examining them to determine their effectiveness, engaging with business unit leaders and quality teams, gathering feedback related to quality, and recommending improvements where necessary. Interacts with a variety of departments, conducts quality training. Monitors quality-related compliance issues and recommends corrective action. Also monitors ISO standards compliance. Primary Responsibilities: Below are the highest priority responsibilities performed in this position. - Lead and contribute to the development and execution of the facility's quality objectives and programs
- Develops and implements workplace policies and procedures in accordance with ISO standards; ensure they are up to date
- Responsible for consistent application and execution of quality policies/programs at facility
- Implements the necessary quality-related training programs
- Oversees the facility's daily operations and identifies opportunities for improvement of quality regulations
- Ensure that accreditations are maintained and extended, as agreed with operational management and corporate quality
- Manage A2LA and other assessments and visits from customer and other regulatory bodies as required
- Ensure that findings cited during audits are responded to in line with the NTS Technical Systems established quality requirements and, in the timeline, and format dictated by the assessment
- Prepares monthly or annual quality reports, including key performance indicators (KPI) such as First Time Right (FTR), customer feedback/complaints and corrective actions, and presents the information to management
- Prepares management review meetings of the quality systems
- Stays informed of developments concerning ISO standards
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or relevant field strongly preferred; equivalent experience required
- 5+ years' experience in a QA role (or similar field) within engineering, manufacturing, testing, or similar industry and relevant formal qualification is strongly preferred
- Experience with A2LA, ISO 17025, and Quality system rules, regulations, including planning and implementation as applicable
- Experience in participating in quality investigations, undertaking true cause analysis, developing corrective action plans, and ensuring the effectiveness of actions undertaken
- Quality ISO certification is required; must have previous experience with ISO requirements
- Experience managing quality programs
Knowledge and Skills:
- Skilled in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Office Visio
- Must be knowledgeable in internal and external auditing to ISO standards
- Ability to develop and establish quality programs, policies, and procedures
- Ability to interact with internal and external clients, accreditation bodies, and facility leadership
- Proficiency in conducting data analysis and reporting statistics
- Effective communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent teamwork and people skills are necessary
- Highly dependable, efficient, and detail orientated, with the ability to use initiative and make decisions autonomously
- Ability to identify quality and technical problems and work with colleagues to determine effective and sustainable solutions
- Ability to adjust to changing priorities, multi-task, thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
- Proficiency with standard office software, computers, and familiarity with electronic management systems (eQMS)
- Excellent supervisory and leadership skills
- ISO trained auditor
Requirements:
- This is an onsite facility-based role.
- Must be able to travel as needed facilities across the country for quality initiatives and team meetings.
