SummaryResponsible for overall effectiveness of inspection of precision machined parts. Manage operations of each inspection team to ensure compliance to quality standards, processes, and the customer's technical requirements. Oversee hiring, training, and responsibilities of inspection teams. Ensure that all quality related processes are documented and adhered to as necessary.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesDetermine best practices for inspection of precision machined parts.Ensure that best practices are thoroughly documented in QMS system.Ensure that inspectors are trained in necessary inspection techniques and Acutec's quality procedures.Manage and oversee personnel allocation. Oversee hiring and assign inspectors and new hires to appropriate inspection teams to effectively manage capacity and workload.Determine metrics for measuring effectiveness of inspection teams and hold teams accountable.Ensure that non-conformances are recorded thoroughly.Collaborate with operations team to ensure that operations team has sufficient resources, training, and oversight to complete all necessary inspection as effectively as possible.Work with production, quality planning, quality programming, and inspection teams to improve inspection processes and identify new technology and methods for improving throughout and accuracy.Collaborates with production team to ensure that inspection responsibilities for operations team are for both are well understood, and expectations are met.Attend various planning and/or management meetings and provide necessary input and guidance related to new projects, production scheduling, problem solving, and staffing levels.Perform other related duties as required.Key RolesLead, Manage, and Hold inspection teams accountable.Develop inspection workforce by overseeing hiring, allocation of inspectors, and training progress for all inspection teams.Work with production, quality planning, and inspection teams to improve inspection process, document the actual expectations, and ensure that procedures are followed. Collaborate with production team to ensure that inspection responsibilities for both machinists and inspectors are well understood and the necessary data is captured in an efficient and cost effective way. Education & Experience RequirementsFive to seven years of experience working in a manufacturing environment, at least two of those years in a Quality Assurance role, with at least three years supervisory experience required or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Required Knowledge and SkillsThe employee must possess the ability to communicate effectively with all internal and external customers in both written and oral form.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities include supervision, training and assisting employees.
