POSITION SUMMARY
The Quality Manager will lead and manage company operations such as customer requirements, product & service quality standards and ensure that they meet requirements. The Quality Director will monitor the company's performance and implement changes where necessary by applying the principles of quality planning, evaluation, and control in support of the turbocharger remanufacturing facility at the BBB Industries plant in Joplin, MO.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Executing systematic, and documented examinations of a quality system for verifying conformity with a standard based on objective evidence such as the implementation of processes, effectiveness in achieving quality goals and reduction and elimination of quality problems.
* Drive implementation and maintenance of document control systems and promote adherence to company regulations, policies, SOPs, and guidelines.
* Identifies and implements creative solutions to abstract problems across the Quality function of the organization
* Knowledge of quality assurance principles, standard requirements, and the set of processes and activities used for measuring, controlling, and ensuring the quality of products and processes.
* Monitor performance of quality control systems to ensure effectiveness and efficiency.
* Responsible for internal and external audit preparation, training, and serve as lead during audits.
* Ensure the project team objectives and timelines are supported by quality deliverables; including but not limited to strategic planning, resource capabilities/allocation, budgeting, and tracking of risks and issues
* Verify that materials, parts, or components and finished products meet established testing and inspection standards.
* Lead and mentor Quality engineer(s) and technicians.
* Closely monitors warranty trends, makes reports available to cross functional teams, ensures timely resolution of defects through corrective actions and maintains the records in 8D format.
* Coordinates incoming product inspections, containment, and timely resolution of supplier quality issues.
* Owns quality systems, ensures manufacturing processes are in compliance with ISO 9001:2015.
* Performs regular product and process audits.
REQUIREMENTS
* Bachelor's degree in engineering and at least 8+ years of experience in automotive manufacturing environment.
* Bachelor's degree in industrial, mechanical, or related field.
* Experience with automotive manufacturing or remanufacturing is preferred.
* Six Sigma certification.
* Prior involvement with ISO 9001 & IATF 16949 certifications required.
* Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
* Team player. Be able to communicate effectively and collaborate well with others.
* Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
* Multi-tasking - ability to prioritize a wide variety of projects and deadlines.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
