Job Summary
The Quality Manager develops, implements and continuously improves a system to assure that all Duke products meet customer specifications and achieve superior quality and reliability levels - thereby enabling the organization to deliver impactful solutions and develop enduring customer relationships.
* Leads and develops Quality team members in a way that maximizes team member engagement.
* Collaborates and communicates cross functionally as well as with customers and suppliers to analyze problems, determine root causes and provide and validate solutions to reduce or eliminate risks to achieving quality and reliability standards.
* Leads the enterprise in the development, sustainment, and continuous improvement of quality management best practices in a way that models Duke's values.
* Is a backup resource for the Director of Enterprise Improvement.
Education and Experience
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field is a must.
* Minimum of 5 years of experience supervising a quality management team within a manufacturing environment is preferred.
* Strong knowledge of quality control standards, methodologies, and tools (e.g., Six Sigma, ISO 9001).
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Strong leadership and team management abilities.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
* Proficiency in quality management software and tools.
* Attention to detail and a commitment to excellence.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Engineering Degree and/or Master's degree in a related field.
* Certification in quality management (e.g., Certified Quality Manager, Six Sigma Black Belt).
* Experience with lean manufacturing principles.
