Lead quality excellence as a Quality Control Manager, driving compliance, innovation, and customer satisfaction in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
The Quality Control Manager oversees the quality assurance program to ensure that product quality meets customer, company, and regulatory requirements. This role involves managing the quality lab, directing quality control processes, and performing advanced statistical analysis. The Quality Control Manager collaborates with cross-functional teams to address quality issues, ensure compliance with standards, and support continuous improvement in manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Directs and assigns work to quality associates who inspect and test products to ensure continuous control over materials, facilities, and products. Evaluates performance. Addresses complaints and resolves problems. Sets expectations and counsels associates when improvement is needed in work performance. Ensures existing and new associates are provided with the appropriate training. Enforces company policies and procedures.
- Works with Management and Executive Leadership concerning customer complaints. Investigates customer complaints regarding quality including traveling to customer location. Works with Marketing and Sales on product and quality related issues. Work with warranty claims and analyze to see if valid.
- Answers technical questions about product specification, code compliance, and product performance.
- Coordinates and schedules third party compliance testing. Works with regulatory and code agencies on product issues and problems.
- Works with Management, Marketing, and Engineering to develop quality control check sheets for product specifications of manufactured items. Promotes training activities related to product and reliability within the plant.
- Works with Process Management to build quality into the production process.
- Develops and analyzes statistical data. Recommends changes to product specifications based upon statistical data, marketing and customer inputs.
- Establishes criteria for disposition of nonconforming product and directs associates in sorting and regarding of nonconforming products.
- Assists in coordinating special projects such as customer returns, sorting and reboxing, and shut down activities.
- Determine what equipment and software to get what is needed for product testing. Maintain both equipment and software and make recommendations. Develop and maintain customized programs (i.e. excel and access) for data collection and analysis.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related technical field.
- 5 to 7 years of extensive quality or production experience in a manufacturing environment of similar complexity.
- Knowledge of VSI standards.
- Ability to reference ASTM Standards, Building Code(s), and other relevant regulatory sources.
- Demonstrated supervisory or management experience.
