Quality Manager

Salary Range: $85k - $120K/year

A Shift (8 am - 5:00pm)

40 hrs/week; overtime as needed

Job Description:

As the Quality Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our Quality Department to guarantee the integrity of our products and processes. You will also work in collaboration with the Directory of Quality and Information Systems to support key strategic initiatives and business objectives.

Responsibilities:

* Manage Quality Department Personnel/Competencies:

* Supervise and develop a team of 6+ direct and 40+ indirect team members, providing leadership, guidance, and support.

* Identify training needs and ensure the development of competencies required to fulfill quality objectives.

* Maintain ISO 9001 Quality Management System:

* Oversee the maintenance and continuous improvement of the ISO 9001 Quality Management System.

* Ensure compliance with AS9102 requirements, driving initiatives to enhance quality processes and documentation.

* Problem Solving through Statistical Approach:

* Utilize statistical methods and tools to analyze data and drive problem-solving initiatives.

* Lead robust root cause analysis to address quality issues and implement effective corrective actions.

* Risk Assessments and Mitigations:

* Conduct risk assessments related to product and process quality, design, and production.

* Develop and implement mitigation strategies to minimize quality-related risks and ensure product reliability.

* Support Design Engineering:

* Collaborate with design engineering teams to ensure that quality requirements are integrated into product designs.

* Provide expertise and support in implementing quality standards and processes during product development.

* Supplier Quality System Development:

* Develop and maintain a robust supplier quality system, including supplier audits and assessments.

* Drive supplier performance improvement initiatives and ensure adherence to quality standards.

* In-Coming Inspection and Final Inspection Support:

* Maintain and enhance in-coming inspection processes to ensure the quality of raw materials and components.

* Support final inspection activities, including in-process inspection and shipping/receiving inspections.

* Quality Reports and SPC Implementation:

* Generate quality reports and metrics to track performance and identify improvement opportunities.

* Implement Statistical Process Control (SPC) methodologies as needed to monitor and control production processes.

* Cross-Functional Collaboration:

* Interface with sales, production, engineering, supply chain, leadership, and customers to address quality issues and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Skills:

* Experience in Aerospace/FDA regulated environments

* Experience with Production Part Approval Process (PAPPs)

Preferred Skills:

* Six Sigma Black Belt Certification

* ASQ Certifications (e.g., Audit, Engineer, Manager)

* Trained Quality System Auditor for GMP and/or ISO audits

* Knowledge of optical testing instrument software (e.g., Zygo MetroPro, Lambda 900, Taylor Hobson surface analysis instruments)

Education and Experience:

* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or equivalent field

* Minimum of 7 years' experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in an optics-related quality or process engineering function

* Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and quality assurance tools such as Minitab

Compensation and Benefits

Optimax Systems offers highly competitive salary of $85,000-$120,000/year, a comprehensive benefits package and a unique work environment.
