Job Summary

In this role, you will work at an independent level and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and customers. They possess subject matter expertise and focused knowledge of core cross-functional operations and procedures.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Training for this role will take place in Rochester, NY.
  • This position is an experienced scientist and growing leader with subject matter expertise across multiple scientific disciplines.
  • This position is charged with supporting activities and staff of the Rochester Global Quality Technical Group.
  • This position engages and contributes to focused strategies within the functional group as well as executes on the business strategies of the processes and products being commercialized.
  • The role is relied upon to coach, mentor and lead other scientists and technicians within the functional group as well as various stakeholder groups like Regulatory, R&D, Operations, Engineers, etc.
  • This role is responsible for driving advanced scope work, initiatives, and strategies related to various scientific disciplines of microbiology, molecular biology, enzymology, analytical chemistry, protein chemistry, or separation science.
  • This group is responsible and integral from stage 1 Design thru stage 6 Drive of the commercialization pipeline and process.
  • This group researches, develops and employs new technology and drives the implementation of methods across all H&B manufacturing and research locations.
  • This Team oversees the Lab operations and methods used and strives to improve processes and methods as well as qualify processes and sites of manufacturer.

Job Requirements:

  • Must be able to travel to Rochester, NY for training
  • Bachelors Degree in Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Microbiology, Biotechnology or similar field
  • 3+ years' experience culturing microorganisms in a laboratory setting
  • Leadership experience in a laboratory setting is a plus.
  • Liquid Nitrogen Handling experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of SAP, ISO9001 and/or ISO17025 is a plus.
