Works across departments to identify and implement specific quality initiatives and corrective action plans. Provides direction to other members of the Quality Team in performing day to day quality activities.Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Ensures that processes needed for the quality system are established, implemented, trained, and maintained.
  • Works with different departments to ensure that non-conforming and unsatisfactory materials/products are properly contained, and work instructions are generated for re-work.
  • Investigates, issue, and log Corrective Action Requests as required.
  • Gathers cost and time spent for the re-work and update nonconforming reports.
  • Prepares, revision control and distribution of specific documentation including SOPs.
  • Audits all areas of the facility to ensure compliance of Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Provides direction to Quality Coordinator in performing day-to-day quality activities.
  • Solves problems and deal with variety of variables in situations where standardization may or may not exist.
  • Manages, mentors, and leads others in the performance of their duties.
  • Reads, analyzes, and interprets industry information and communicate that information in a variety of forums.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • High level of attention to detail and follow through skills.
  • Willingness to be accountable for the level of quality produced.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.
  • Minimum of an associate degree with at least 4 years' experience in a manufacturing environment with the focus on Quality Control and Assurance.
  • Strong knowledge of USPS postal regulations preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, with special emphasis on excel.
  • Basic Cost Accounting
  • Ability to communicate effectively via email and face-face interaction.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
