Position OverviewThe Quality Supervisor assists the Quality Manager in ensuring the facility follows the Quality Management System as prescribed in the latest version of the ISO 9001:2015 standard. Responsible for managing and maintaining the ISO program, Board Specs and requirements associated with the Paper Test Lab, Recycle Lab, and the Wet End Lab. The Quality Supervisor uses Power BI, Parcview, Alpha, and other systems to investigate quality claims for the customer. They maintain the Paper Testing MDE and supervise the Paper Testers who run all tests on final product.ResponsibilitiesAssists in leading the customer feedback process for the organization - Enter, monitor, and close out customer, internal and audit issues - Enter, monitor, and close out corrective and preventive actions - Identify quality problems or areas for improvement and investigate, recommend, implement, and monitor the effectiveness of the corrective and preventive actions - Develops and implements methods and procedures for disposition of nonconforming material and devises methods to assess cost and responsibility. - Produce reports regarding nonconformance of products or processes, daily production quality, root cause analyses, or quality trends - Implement new and revised procedures to strengthen the effectiveness of the Quality team meetings - Ensure issues with new items are resolved in a timely manner - Communicate key issues and actions from the new item meetings. Provide technical support for initial orders of new items - Provide technical support on customer issues - Provide technical support for trials - Creates, coordinates, gets buy-in, communicates, executes and reports Quality Management System - Plans and directs activities concerned with Product Acceptance - Supports in monitoring performance of quality management system to ensure effectiveness - Help with planning the internal quality audit process - Participate in the recertification and surveillance audits - Ensure procedures are established and implemented to meet the requirements of the ISO9000 Standard - Assist in reviewing and updating standard operating procedures or quality assurance manuals. - Provide support to other departments to improve the quality management system - Management rep in the Quality Manager's absence Training - Assists with the writing of training material & conducts training sessions on quality activities. Other - Supports all employees in the performance of their duties as per established procedures. - Facilitates meetings and monitors progress of special projects and related activities. Supports Management Staff by participating in Customer Audits and Surveys on site. - Supports manufacturing in every way possible, to guarantee good quality products. - Monitors & ensures calibration of, Inspection, Measuring & Test Equipment.QualificationsEducation: BS Degree in an Engineering field, or equivalent experience. Desirable but not necessary, three years' experience in the Paper Manufacturing EnvironmentExperience: 3-5 years in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a paper manufacturing facility. ISO certified preferred. Computer Skills: Personal Computer, Microsoft Office SoftwareThe qualifications for Quality Control Supervisor are the ability to meet the requirements of the job with or without accommodation. The ability to learn; and the ability to follow instructions, ask questions, and work effectively as a member of a team. Must be able to interpret ISO Standards and other written documents related to the Paper and Corrugated Industry. Must be able to make critical decisions to support customers. Must have practical knowledge of customer relation's protocol. Other Requirements: Able to communicate to all levels of the plant (management to operators). Must be able to communicate well with suppliers as well as customers. Physical demands: Standing, sitting, walking, push/pull, ability to lift/carry 10lbs-50lbs. Must be able to work in Plant environment: Noisy, dirty, dusty, hot and cold temperatures.
