This candidate will be responsible for the development, implementation, maintenance, and improvement of quality assurance processes. Throughout the implementation and maintenance process, this candidate should use data analysis to better understand quality reporting measures and improve processes.
Responsibilities
- As the Quality Systems Engineer, you will report to the Quality Manager and will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Ownership and responsibility of the IATF 16949 quality system and supporting the ISO 14001 systems
- Manage the internal audit program
- Support layered process audits
- Facilitate and host customer and 3rd party audits
- Ensure business systems documents are accurate and adequate
- Lead root cause analysis for quality issues related to the quality systems and implement corrective actions as needed
- Manage internal deviation and have oversight of document control, including recording activities
- Assist maintenance and EHS with compliance and document management of ISO 14001
- Create and provide training to team members on quality systems
- Update work instructions as needed
- Support change management and lead strategic/forward thinking related to quality systems
- Identify and drive continuous improvement projects
- Other duties as directed by management
REQUIREMENTS for the Quality Systems Engineer - IATF 16949:
• Bachelor's degree in engineering
• 2-5 years of work experience in a similar quality systems engineering role
• Experience supporting quality systems in an automotive supplier and/or OEM environment
• Experience as a manager or a contributor responsible for IATF 16949 quality systems
• Formal problem-solving and root cause analysis experience
• Working knowledge of critical characteristics related to automotive manufacturing
