Job Description: Quality Technician Location: Westlake, OHShift: 1st - 11 am to 7 pm Wednesday- Sunday (training will be 11 am to 7 pm Monday-Friday) (overtime as needed)Compensation: $21 to $23 per hour based on experienceAs the Quality Technician you would be responsible for verifying that product meets or exceeds safe food handling and quality standards.Duties/Responsibilities

  • Ensure proper use and care of analytical instruments and equipment, including daily calibration checks.
  • Analyze product chemistry in the form of sugar solids (Brix), pH and thickness (viscosity), titratable acidity, water activity, drain weight, sensory, and other analytical and operations tests that are performed for each lot and documented as required per Process Control and HACCP sheets.
  • Inspect rework before it is used and make sure documentation provides traceability.
  • Verify product quality and integrity by checking the production line during the filling of each lot (package and case integrity, label and code date accuracy, weights, temperature, etc)
  • Analyze first and last cartons during formula changes for product chemistry and tray/screen inspections to ensure no presence of foreign materials.
  • Filter checks, metal detector monitoring, magnet checks, allergen verifications and hot fill monitoring as prescribed by production line requirements.
  • Monitor line and equipment for food safety related items such as GMP and proper sanitation practices.
  • Document data and provide timely/effective communication to production supervisors and other personnel.
  • Collect samples and maintain sample library.
  • Experience with GMP, HACCP and lab testing a plus.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • A proven track record of exceptional organizational, planning and overall time management skills in addition to exceptional verbal and written communication,
  • A comprehensive understanding of the core competencies of Lyons' manufacturing capabilities and proprietary product development.
