Overview & ResponsibilitiesThe Quality Technician II is responsible to provide administrative and technical assistance to the Quality Assurance and Inspection Departments. The Quality Technician II will be tasked with supporting Quality Engineers and Quality Managers by performing various technical tasks which may involve working with various data and information management systems.
- Compiles and prepares quality assurance manufacturing data records (QA MDR) for submittal to customers. As related task the Quality Technician must utilize Oracle and Windchill to help support the on-going effective management of manufacturing data records.
- Works with and supports established systems, processes, or forms to help sustain on-going effectiveness associated with managing the collection of inspection an test data to help ensure customer satisfaction (e.g., use of component plans). Make revisions to supporting work instructions, as necessary)
- Assists with quality inspection and test plans and component plans
- Perform data sorting, investigation and analysis to support quality related investigations as requested by quality engineering.
- Work on projects that will support improvement efforts associated with the collection and management of inspection and test records.
- May be required to assist with compilation of data for generating reports to analyze cost of quality in regards to continuous improvement efforts.
- As an internal audit team member assist with internal quality audits.
- May be required to assist with scheduling inspections and/or tests that require customer involvement (i.e., witness and/or observe points).
- Obtains and maintains American Society for Quality membership and certification as a quality technician.
- Limited involvement in projects.
- Beginning knowledge of product specifications and features
- General knowledge of manufacturing processes, inspection methods and procedures, inspection equipment, nondestructive testing techniques and quality engineering including analytical skills.
- Familiarity with standard operational processes within Quality
- Interacts with others requiring social skills and the ability to understand and influence using data and logic.
- Clear and comprehensive communication skills are important
- May choose an approach or procedure for addressing a work task, under guidance. Receives regular, direct supervision.
- Associate's degree, preferably in Quality, Technical or other related with 2 years' experience.
