We are currently looking for a Quality Technician to join our team. Job Summary: The Quality Technician follows all procedures and performs a variety of tasks in the Quality area to ensure we are following our Quality Management System (QMS) and providing Quality products to our customers. This position is for Night Shift and will work the normal (2-2-3) schedule with the exact night shift TBD.

Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Audit and monitor quality requirements on a line in accordance with the company quality assurance policies including ISO 9001:2015 and Safe Quality Food (SQF).
  • Conduct inspections: in-process, in-coming, final inspections, and dock audits on occasion.
  • Initiate non-conformance reports as required.
  • Document and report inspection findings and results; and monitors corrective actions to inspection findings.
  • Perform accurate mechanical, physical, and visual inspections of raw materials, components, and sub-assemblies as per inspection plans and specification requirements.
  • Read and interpret specifications and part visual inspection sheets.
  • Issue Certificates of Analysis (COAs) as needed.
  • Perform product identification and traceability activities, as required.
  • Document information on the computer in various databases and other internal programs; logs the assembly non-conformities and communicates information to production department.
  • Conduct various tests and quality checks on finished products.
  • Ensure that all products have been tested and fall within standards, measured to specifications and within tolerances, and ensures readability of labels.
  • Perform Equipment Calibration checks and manage calibrated equipment and the calibration process as assigned.
  • Participate in customer complaint investigations and corrective actions.
  • Perform training activities as assigned.
  • Follow all clean-up and housekeeping procedures. Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
  • Comply with all safety, quality, and production work rules and regulations.
  • Good attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Required Skills/Education/Training:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent education required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • High Attention to Detail.
  • Ability to conduct oneself in a professional manner while engaging personnel and customers among all levels of the organization.
  • Actively seeks knowledge, skills and experience in order to grow and develop.
  • Ability to think ahead, anticipate problems and take appropriate actions.
  • Demonstrated decision making and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to use computers well and familiar with Microsoft Office and associated software.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Knowledge of calipers, micrometers, height gauges.
  • Previous experience performing Quality Audits / Inspections.
  • Familiar with NWA statistical software.
  • Good understanding of problem-solving techniques, root cause analysis and Plan Do Check Act (PDCA) investigation.
  • Familiar with Six Sigma, Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Lean Continuous Improvement.
  • Previous ISO 9001 and or SQF experience.
