Job Description:
Summary Position Summary
  • Responsible for developing, monitoring, and making recommendations to improve overall departmental quality. Provides oversight and management of competency assessments for all department staff. Under the direction of the department Manager/Supervisor and Laboratory Medical Director, coordinates implementation and standardization of best clinical laboratory practices, manages departmental projects and serves as a resource for technical initiatives and standardization within the department.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
  • Education: Associates Degree required, Bachelor's degree preferred
  • License/Certifications: Certification as a technologist/technician by a recognized professional organization (e.g., ASCP, BOR, NCA) is required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years relevant laboratory experience required.
  • Project Management and process improvement experience preferred.
  • Ability to problem-solve and troubleshoot independently and to apply critical thinking skills.
  • Professional and effective verbal and written communication
  • Proficiency with Word and Excel software. Experience working with laboratory information systems.
  • Ability to gather quality reports with understanding of the quality indicators being monitored.
