About the Position: The Quality Technician will perform and report the results of lab testing, manufacturing quality checks and product inspection throughout the tire manufacturing process. This position requires the associate to work with associates in multiple departments and at various levels of the organization. Responsibilities:
- Record time and receive information on proper forms.
- Detect/Report faulty equipment, defective material, improper operationsand unusual conditions to manager.
- Observe all prescribed safety practices and maintain equipment/work area in a neat and orderly condition.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or directed.
- Perform duties involved in operating the physical test lab.
- Coordinate testing, identify non-conforming materials/test results, coordinate re-testing and report results to Quality and Production.
- Ensure necessary stock is tested and released in a timely manner.
- Maintain knowledge of quality specifications. Inspect component products or material during processing or receiving for quality checks (such as temperature, physical appearance, weight, color, layers of fabric, building specifications, etc).
- Gather and record data, figure averages and plot information on quality control charts.
- Originate rejection tags and inform Quality and Production.
- Arrange tests to confirm quality before releasing to Production.
- Gather special data as required by Quality Assurance, Production or Development to detect and eliminate causes for quality problems.
- Check on disposition of non-conforming stock to assure quality of additional material is not in jeopardy.
- Build, cure and analyze tires for thermocouple studies.
- Utilize computer generated reports for analysis and verification that all quality standards are being achieved.
- Properly document/report on mandated compliance standards.
- Weigh/Measure tire gauges (in critical) to Quality areas.

- Assist with analysis/disposition of non-conforming products.
- Responsible for programming recipes by individual tire code (including setting-up recipes and teaching tires in each x-ray, toscreen tires to Goodyear Quality Management Technical System [GQMTS] specifications).
- Analyze new/development tires and program and set recipes for screening those tires.
- Review/Analyze tire performance to ensure reliable and consistent screening of tire codes for machine variation (this includes adjusting recipes/programs to minimize false rejects).
- Perform quarterly tire calibration checks.
- Screen and disposition tires into GYMENU (Goodyear Quality Disposition System) for Quality associates to review.
- Peform duties involved in keeping production flow though final inspection.
Education: - High School diploma required
- 2-year technical degree desired
Experience: 0 + years of experience in Manufacturing or Quality/Technology field required
