- Work closely with all areas of operations in the identification and correction of all problems concerning blueprints, unclear specifications, gauging/equipment designs and machine/product capabilities.
- Create, maintain, and execute calibration procedures for various gauges / instruments and equipment.
- Perform CMM probe calibrations, clean optical scales, and trouble shoot fixture / part alignment / set-up issues.
- Operate CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) to perform measurement, inspection, and testing of production materials and components using previously prepared inspection programs.
- Coordinate all calibration with external calibration vendors for gauges / instruments that can not be calibrated internally.
- Evaluate and troubleshoot non-operationial / faulty instruments / gauging and coordinate repair or replacement as needed.
- Participate in rifle reliability and durability, function, and accuracy testing.
- Assist in training customers/team members in the use of our product.
- Monitor, analyze, and maintain both hard copy and electronic files of various assurance logs check sheets, and other documentation in an organized fashion.
- Communicate with Manager/Supervisor as necessary on problem resolution, internal and external performance rating improvement, etc.
- Must be able to meet Barrett's marksmanship standard. Observe range rules and general firearm safety
Full-Time/Part-Time Full-Time Position Quality Technician Position Requirements
- Oversight of calibration for all Internal / External gauges and monitor due dates, perform calibrations, and generate calibration documentation (certification stickers and reports).
- Must have general competence with measuring and layout tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gages and optical comparator.
- Mag-Particle level II certification (ASNT TC-1A) preferred. In lieu of certifications, must obtain and maintain certification within a reasonable amount of time. ASQ, CQI, CQT, CQE, or CQA is a plus.
- High school diploma or GED required. Work experience in quality, engineering, machining, or related functions, technical certificate, or a degree is a plus.
- Possess general competence with measuring and layout tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gages and optical comparator.
- Experience with Microsoft Office 365. Ability to learn new software and database programs as necessary.
- Ability to measure very small and large components for several hours.
- Experience with Manufacturing, Assembly, and/or Engineering a plus.
- Knowledge of ISO9001:2015 is a plus.
- Experience with interpreting blueprints and proper use of GD&T.
- Willing to work any shift, and overtime if required.
- The employee must be able to lift and carry or move up to 70 pounds for long periods of time, in accordance with proper safe lifting procedures.
