What you bring to the tableThe desire to ensure the quality of outgoing finished goods by confirming they meet all stated criteria and lab testing items as needed by other departments.Having the aptitude to grow inoculum from cryovials to volumes with the ability to be utilized on an industrial scale.Utilizing your core competencies in standard lab methods and your excellent sterile technique as required for analysis of product throughout the processes.What you will do as a Quality Technician
- Analyze finished microbial products to ensure compliance with customer specifications.
- Evaluate raw materials to ensure internal specifications.
- Effectively communicate out-of-spec findings to the correct parties.
- Ability to perform Industrial Inoculation which includes flask assembly, inoculation counts and purity.
- Perform Cryo streak, purity streaks, and inoculation of flask assembly and media prep.
- Skilled to interpret testing results and determine a course of action.
- Participate in meetings as a contributor or presenter when called upon to present data.
- Write, edit, follow, and aid in the revisions of procedures governing Quality lab practices.
- Recognize and communicate areas of improvement to help the Quality lab run safely and efficiently.
- Maintain accountability for records of findings and provide current or historical data when requested.
To succeed you must hold:
- Bachelor's degree in microbiology, biology, or other science related field preferred.
- 2-3 years of experience in a QA/QC environment or laboratory practices.
- Experience with enumeration of bacteria via serial dilution and pour plating.
- Experience with fermentation operations and/or aseptic technique.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft office.
