Quality Technician III

POSITION SUMMARY: The Quality Technician III is responsible for overseeing quality inspection processes during their assigned shift, ensuring products meet established quality standards and specifications. As the shift lead, they will support quality improvement initiatives, mentor junior inspectors, and collaborate closely with the production team to address and resolve quality issues.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Quality Inspection & Testing:

  • Conduct advanced inspections on materials, components, and finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections; assess products for functional and dimensional accuracy.
  • Record and analyze inspection results, providing detailed feedback to production and QA teams.
  • Identify, document, and escalate defects, working with production to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.

Supplier & Material Verification:

  • Verify incoming materials against supplier documentation and perform detailed inspections on critical parts.
  • Ensure materials meet required specifications, standards, and quality benchmarks.

Equipment & Process Oversight:

  • Oversee the calibration and maintenance of inspection tools, ensuring accuracy and availability across all shifts.
  • Develop and update quality inspection procedures and provide guidance on best practices.
  • Monitor quality trends across shifts, recommending or leading quality improvement initiatives to senior management.

Compliance & Continuous Improvement:

  • Ensure compliance with ISO standards and internal quality policies.
  • Drive continuous improvement by participating in quality audits, developing corrective actions, and training junior inspectors.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years of experience in quality inspection, ideally within a manufacturing setting.
  • Strong knowledge of inspection equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers) and quality standards (e.g., ISO, Six Sigma).
  • Proven leadership and mentoring abilities, with experience guiding and developing junior staff.
  • Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot and resolve complex quality issues.
  • Attention to detail with excellent documentation and reporting capabilities.
